Dear SCCCS Supporter,
We plan to apply and secure start up grant funding through state apportionment opportunities given in the state budget. However, this grant funding may be eliminated. The California Charter Schools Association, who SCCCS is a developer with, recently sent out this important information and has asked for support to make sure this important funding is not eliminated.
Specifically, CCSA has explained that there has been:
“A major set back in the Capitol with our top budget priority. In a 2-1 vote, the Senate Budget Subcommittee on Education removed $20 million from the Governor’s budget proposal for charter school start-up funding. Senators Marty Block (D-San Diego) and Ben Allen (D-Santa Monica) voted to remove the funds, while Senator John Moorlach (R-Costa Mesa) voted to retain the funds.
As a SCCCS supporter, we ask that you please consider quickly and easily letting legislators know how important this funding is. CCSA has created a campaign that takes less than a minute to complete. Here are the details:
